Below you will fine all information on the TERMS, CONDITIONS AND SAFETY OF USE. Please ensure you have read and agree before placing an order with Funky Bunk Beds Limited.
Safety Of Use For Our Products
IMPORTANT: READ THIS INFORMATION CAREFULLY BEFORE ASSEMBLING OR USING YOUR FUNKY BUNK BED AND PLEASE KEEP THIS SAFE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. ALSO, PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT WHO EVER IS USING THE BED IS AWARE OF THIS INFORMATION.
Health and Safety
· When choosing your mattress, please ensure that the depth is no bigger than 7 inches and fits snuggly so that it leaves a gap from the top of the safety rail to the top of the mattress of 16cm. It is your responsibility to ensure this gap remains, if you would like the rail to be made any higher or lower, please do let us know. If you request the rail to be made lower and the mattress depth does not comply, this is at your own risk.
· The top bunk should not be used for any child under the age of 6.
· If you have any child under the age of 6 in your household we recommend that you have a safety gate fitted at the bottom of the staircase to support preventing the child from climbing the stairs and if you have a ladder on the bed please ensure your child knows the dangers and is supervised.
· If you have drawers built into your product, please ensure drawers are closed at all times unless in use as these can be a tripping hazard. As all beds are bespoke made, we use wooden drawer runners. These are used to prevent the drawers from sliding open or closed on their own
· Please ensure your child is not left unattended when using the drawers.
· The bottom bunk of any bed is not recommended for any children under the age of two.
· If selling or giving away the bed to another person, this document should be given to the buyer or anyone who may intend on using the bed.
· No child should lean or climb on the safety rails of the bed.
· Please do not tamper with or scratch the bed as this could cause sharp or rough edges that can cause injury.
· Please check all fixings in the bed regularly to ensure that none have become loose and if they have re-tighten these immediately.
· If you need to access the space underneath or behind the bed, then you should always dismantle first before trying to access the space
· Do not use this bed frame if any parts are missing, damaged or worn.
· Do not use this bed frame unless all fixings are secured.
· If you would like to disassemble the bed, please ensure that you do this correctly by following the instructions and when reassembling please ensure that you follow all instructions correctly. (Please contact us for instructions if you do not have these.)
· If any parts are damaged when disassembling, please do not use the bed until parts are repaired or replaced by Funky Bunk Beds. To purchase any replacement parts, please contact us.
· Please ensure that the room is well ventilated to prevent the bed moulding.
· This product has not been designed or constructed as play equipment.
· Do not allow any person to bounce anywhere on the bed frame or on the mattress when positioned on the bed.
· Please place a lamp/light near the stairs/ladder of the bed at night time so that the person can see where they are going.
· Do not place lamp to close to bed, to ensure that they are not near any pillows, quilts or mattresses as this can be a fire hazard. Alternatively, you could use LED lamps that do not produce any heat.
· Please ensure that the area around the bed is free from clutter so that the bed is easily accessible and if a child was to fall from the bed then the severity of injury may be decreased.
· When assembling the bed, please follow instructions carefully and if you have any problems give us a call.
· Do not allow any person to swing or jump on or under the bed.
· Always use the ladder or stairs to climb up to and down from the top bunk.
· Do not replace original parts with substitutes. Spare parts must be obtained from Funky Bunk Beds.
· Always use the bed on a level, even surface. It is not our responsibility however to check your ground surface, this should be checked by the customer.
· We recommend that the bed is placed on a piece of carpet instead of laminate/tiled flooring to decrease the risk of the bed moving. We do not provide any type of flooring, so this is your responsibility to source this yourself if you do not already have this.
· Please keep bed away from lights, windows or other objects to ensure that the child when using the bed cannot reach these things. If we assemble the bed for you. you will be asked to give instruction of where you want the bed, we hold no responsibility for this.
· Please keep all small parts out of reach of children.
· Please ensure that there are no naked flames on or around the bed.
· Please ensure that there are no persons smoking while near or on the bed.
· If any of the parts of the bed become damaged or lose do not use the bed until these pieces have been fixed or replaced.
· If we are assembling the bed for you, please ensure that you take these points into consideration before instructing us on where/how you would like the bed positioned. This document is set out to recommend the health and safety guidelines and you are responsible for ensuring the instructions given to our driver complies with these.
· If you purchase the bed in unfinished MDF we reccomend painting the bed before any use due to the dust that can be released from unfinished MDF. When painting we recommend sanding all edges between coats and un-sanded edges can be rough.
· We recommend for all products supplied by us to be fixed securely to the wall using appropiate fixings for heavy weight furniture to prevent furniture falling. We are unable to do this for you however we can offer guidance if needed on how to do this yourself.
· If we paint the beds for you, we recommend that they should be wiped down once assembled and left for 24 hours after assembly.
CAUTION: There is a risk of strangulation to children from items such as ropes, string, cords, harnesses and belts hanging from the bed frame.
WARNING: Children can become trapped between the bedframe and the wall. To avoid risk of serious injuries the gap between the top rail and the wall should not exceed 75mm, or it should be more than 230mm.
WARNING: If this bed is placed on a non-carpeted floor you must place some protection under the bed to stop the frame from moving. If this is not adhered to there is no guarantee if the bed frame collapses. If we are assembling the bed for you it is your responsibility to put something down on the floor before we assemble.
Care & Maintenance
· Please assemble in the room of use.
· Periodically check all screws & fixings to ensure they are secure.
· Do not push the bed frame.
· Bed frame must be disassembled before moving.
· Always lift parts of the bed with two people to reposition.
· Keep any sharp objects away from the frame.
– If the bed is taken down or moved by yourself or a 3rd party company, the warranty is voided as we do recommend for us to do this for you.
Terms and conditions of Purchase
The information on this page tells you the terms and condition that we, Funky Bunk Beds, supply any of the products that we sell. These terms and conditions apply if you are a consumer. By purchasing any product from us, you agree to be bound to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to accept these conditions you will not be able to purchase from us.
1. These terms and conditions apply to all orders placed. By placing an order with Funky Bunk Beds and paying the minimum required deposit you are accepting to abide by these Terms and conditions. Please read them carefully and if you have any queries please contact us.
2. If you do not want to abide by these terms and conditions then please do not place an order with us or pay the deposit and enter into a contract. If you have only seen these terms and conditions once you have already placed the order with us, you do have the right to receive your deposit back within 48 hours if you do not want to abide by these.
3. These Terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
4. Our products are only intended for use by people living in the United Kingdom and we do not accept orders from anywhere other than the United Kingdom.
5. To place an order with us you please do this via our website. Alternatively you can also contact us on info@funkybunkbeds.com or on our Facebook page and we will then send you an email to confirm your order.
6. By placing an order with us you are confirming that: i. You are legally capable of entering into binding contracts ii. You live in the United Kingdom iii. Are placing your order with us from the United Kingdom iv. You are 18 Years old or over v. All orders placed with us are subject to acceptance. All details supplied to us must be accurate and true.
7. If there are any problems with your order, we will contact you as soon as possible.
8. To place an order with us you must either place this on our website or contact us on the email provided, over the phone or through our Facebook page/Instagram page.
9. All images displayed are an indication of the product. As all products are bespoke to order there will always be slight differences and some items may have small variations in ticking and colour, usually as an even of varied screen resolutions.
10. When placing an order, we require a non-refundable deposit of £50 to secure the delivery date and the product on order but if the customer would like to pay a bigger deposit they can, and it will be less off the final bill. The deposit amount may vary for bespoke/large orders.
11. On every order every customer will receive an order summary which will be sent the same way that the order has been placed and Health and Safety information relating to their purchase. They are required to check order is correct and read all health and safety pointers thoroughly and carefully and should also make their children aware of health and safety when using the bed. Once product is delivered, we are not liable for any incorrect requirements unless these were stated on the order summary even if it was initially ordered or spoken about. We have standard measurements for each piece of the bed, please check these measurements are suitable for you at standard size. Most measurements can be altered however if you would like to change this this must be agreed at point of ordering.
12. If any product is displayed with an inaccurate price, we have the right to withdraw and cancel the order prior to the contract being made, by us confirming your order.
13. Any errors that have been made with the description of our products will be rectified as soon as possible.
14. Price displayed and given to you is inclusive of VAT.
15. We offer a delivery service that will be charged at an extra rate depending on your location or you can also choose to collect the product free of charge. Delivery costs under any circumstances are non refundable.
16. We will work out a date and time with you for delivery that suits both of us.
17. Deliveries take place Monday – Fridays and Delivery times are between 8AM and 6PM and unfortunately we are unable to give more precise time slots. Our driver will try to call you when he is setting off to you to give an approx. time however this may not always be possible.
18. We cannot be liable for any traffic or delays that we may face when delivering however we will always try to give as much notice as we can if we do face any delays. If delays cause us to fall outside of usual delivery times we would always give you the option to change delivery date.
19. As all products are bespoke made we recommend for us at funky bunk beds to assemble the bed for you the first time as it can be very tricky for someone who has not done this before to do and would require at least two people to do this using a screwdriver or drill. If the product is assembled by anyone other than ourselves we cannot be held liable for the structure or build of the product.
20. Once your bed has been delivered and assembled you are required to thoroughly check the bed with our driver and sign to confirm that you accept and are satisfied with the condition that it has been left with you in. Once you have signed for the bed, unless you have wrote any issues down on the form, we will not be held responsible for any damage caused to it.
21. You should ensure that you completely check all areas on the bed, including paintwork, edges, fixings etc while our driver is at your property. Our driver will not leave until you have confirmed you are happy and satisfied and issues raised following our driver leaving risk not being resolved under the guaruntee as we cannot accept liability. It is your responsibility to check the bed while our driver is still there, they can be asked to leave the room while you do so also.
22. The 50% of final payment is due 1 week before the delivery date and final 50% no later than delivery date. This will be requested via invoice through email. Where there will be bank details shown and a link for card payment.
Failure to pay this will result in cancellation of your order and loss of the deposit.
23. Please ensure that there is a space for us to deliver the bed as we are not insured to move any items out of the way. If there are any objects that need to be moved from the bedroom which delays our driver from assembling the bed, you would be subject to pay a charge of £20 for the time spent waiting by our driver.
24. High Beds and the upper bunk of a bunk bed is not suitable for any child under the age of 6.
25. The goods that you order become your property when they have been delivered to you. Once they have been delivered, they will be your responsibility and we will not hold any responsibility for loss or destruction.
26. The paint that we use to paint our products with (if required) is all child friendly paint and safe for children to be around. This paint may let off an odour.
27. Our beds are made up of various size panels. Although we can fit the largest panels into 99% of properties, there are a few properties for which we will have to build smaller panels. If you have had any problems with fitting furniture into bedrooms in your house, then please let us know by e-mailing us and we can see what we can do for you. We will not be held responsible for panels that are unable to fit into your designated room but if we find that it is not possible to fit the panels into the room when we arrive, we will change these panels for smaller but there will be a full redelivery charge and a charge for altering the pieces. It may also take up to 6 weeks to build and redeliver the smaller panels.
28. Designs and specifications are subject to change without notice. If you would like the design to remain exactly the same as a specific design, please do let us know. This may not always be possible however we can discuss options.
29.When our driver assembles your bed in your property, he will always take photos of the bed. We will use these photos to check the quality of the bed and occasionally for advertising. Additionally, body cams are worn for training and security purposes at times, the footage recorder would never be shared, if you would prefer this to not be recordered, please let us know in advance. We will never take or use any photos or video footage that display any personal data or go against your privacy rights.
30. All products come with 5-year warranty. This warranty does not cover: i. Damages caused by misuse, abuse and accidents ii. Damage or discolouration caused by sunlight or artificial lighting sources iii. Variation within the colour or graining of the wood iv. Products that have been dismantled/reassembled or altered/adjusted by anyone other than ourselves v. Products that have been incorrectly assembled by the purchaser. vi the carpet for the staircase if purchased from us. vii. The drawers on the bed are also not covered by any warranty.
31. Funky Bunk Beds Limited have the right to cancel if: i. We have insufficient stock to deliver the goods that you have ordered ii. We do not deliver to your area iii. One or more of the items that you have ordered was listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical error or an error in the pricing information received by us from suppliers
32. If we must cancel your order, we will notify you as soon as possible and if you have already paid the deposit or full cost then we will refund your money back to you within 14 days.
33. If any of these terms and conditions is unenforceable (including any provision in which we exclude our liability to you) the enforceability of any other part of these conditions will not be notified.
34. If you order the bed in unfinished MDF, we always recommend that you paint the bed yourself to seal the MDF to stop the risk of dust being released from the MDF. Between coats of paint if you do paint your self, you will require to sand edges and face to give a smooth finish.
35. If you would like us to paint the bed a certain shade of colour, please state this shade in writing and we will always try to complete this. If we cannot we will always let you know. This is the same for the carpet colour if this is added to your order.
36. If mattresses are purchased from us, these should be paid for on delivery by cash or bank transfer. Please note that mattresses are non-refundable.
37. No voucher or discount code or deposit can be used on any sale product. Neither can more than 1 voucher be used at any one time.
38. You acknowledge and agree to be bound by the terms of our privacy policy.
39. Nothing in this agree is intended to, nor shall it confer to any other rights on a third party.
In the unlikely event that you are not entirely happy with your purchase then please contact us and we will be more than happy to help.
Returns.
Due to all products being bespoke made to order we do not offer refunds unless the product is identified to be damaged or faulty while our driver is still at your property. Any damages should be wrote on the checksheet or raised with the driver or a member of the Funky Bunk Beds Team at the time of delivery. If this is not the case and the issue isnt raised until after our driver leaves, this product is non returnable.
We offer no returns on mattresses due to health and safety even if they are still in the bag.
Any returns are subject to a charge for collection or these can be returned back to our warehouse by the customer.
Under no circumstances delivery and assemble cost is non refundable.
Refunds.
If you return is approved, we will initiate a refund to your original method of payment. This will be with you between 7-10 days of product of been returned.
Shipping
Delivery costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund for any reason, the cost of delivery will be deducted from your refund.
If your bed is to be delivered by a courier service rather than ourselves, we are unfortunatley unable to give a specific date or time for the delivery as this is out of our control. We will however always try our best to gain delivery information for the customer.
