About Funky Bunk Beds? In the beginning, whilst renovating our children’s bedroom, We searched the internet high and low for a made to measure bunk bed and furniture. With very limited space within our kids room, we therefore needed to maximise storage. However In the end, after no luck of finding a company who were able to provide us with the service…

We made our own!

Most Certainly, We knew about how important it was that we followed health and safety guidelines before making our own child’s bed. Therefore to begin with, we undertook specialised training to ensure that the safety of the product was top marks. 

After making our bed, we shared pictures on social media in which immediately shown us these was in high demand. Obviously, the funky staircase we had built was a huge hit! Following on from this, we decided to expand our knowledge further and take thorough training within the British Safety Regulations.

Over time, the demand increased and our fan base grew and so did our team. Allowing customers to have bespoke products, specifically designed to suit their requirements, at an affordable price, was in demand. Furthermore, we took the chance and gave the new business our all.

Once our portfolio grew, people saw the potential within our products. To begin with, we made bunk beds in our spare time, around our busy lives of been parents…. following on to become our full time occupation and LIFE!

Funky Bunk BEDS GREW!

Since then, our designs have expanded from cabin beds up too six sleepers! Alongside other bedroom furniture, for example wardrobes and bookcases.  In addition, we progressed to adding fun elements such as slides, play dens, seating and many more! Up to today, we have never been unable to offer a service that saves space and offers a funky design! We have been delivering our products all around the UK, daily from the very start. Therfore Giving parents the solution that we found after we thought it was impossible! 

Above all however, we will continue to work by our original Moto – ‘As a family, we run this business for the love of children and the understanding of being parents”..

As well as expanding our design range, we have also taken larger steps into working within the trade industries. We soon began to realise that it wasn’t only the general public that lacked this service, but also many companies did too! For examply, an American University named stamford University to whom contacted us to supply beds, wardrobes and desks to be used within their London based student accommodation. As like before. The word of our services escalated and so did our products. We followed on to work in other settings such as large student accommodation refurbishments, interior design projects, schools, libraries and many others! 

New Projects.

Regardless of size, we are always able to take on new projects. Big or small, we are happy to help with any made to measure, furniture requirements that are sent our way. Afterall, working with many customers from all backgrounds we are familiar with tailoring our services to suit each individual. And at the same time, as all designing and manufacturing are carried out in house – the process is even more so personalised. Furthermore to this, we take pride in ensuring the process runs smoothly as possible, therefore will assign just one point of contact to each customer.

Evidently, our whole lives has been surrounded by the fabulous material of wood and the unique designed that can be made from it! Our Family Generate from working within the wood work industry ever since 1940. Our Great Grandfather, Arthur Shirt, started off the family design and wood work loom over 75 years ago. Since then, the business has been passed down the family in each generation and is now run by our parents, growing further each day.

Therefore, as children we watched our Parents and Grandparents make and design products, in which they followed on to sell to big industrial firms. The knowledge of our Grandfather has been carried down through each generation. Therefore, we are today guided by the most famous tricks and information of experiences carpenters and joines.

Evidently we believe that through Funky Bunk Beds, we will continue to follow on in feet of our Great Grandfather… through the love of woodwork and the brilliant creations that you can have through working with it!
